We love kids!
As a mother of children herself, Dr. Blazer is very comfortable with all phases of children's dental care, including sealants, tooth colored fillings, extractions prior to orthodontic treatment, custom mouth guards for sports, and much more. We keep our younger patients relaxed and entertained during appointments with age appropriate movies and laughing gas if needed. Our kids LOVE to rummage through the big treasure box of toys after their appointments are complete.
When is the best time to start bringing your child to the dentist? We like to see kids around age three. If they have an older sibling, they do best if they can watch big brother or big sister get a teeth cleaning. They get to “go for a ride” in the dental chair. If they’ll let us, we’ll look in the mouth and “tickle the teeth” with kid-friendly toothpaste. Some kids will let us do this, some aren’t quite ready at age three. Either way, Dr. Blazer will examine your child’s teeth to make sure there are no obvious problems. She’ll spend time instructing you on proper brushing technique for your child, and evaluate for possible orthodontic needs.
Do you and your family drink bottled water? If you have young children, they may not be getting the fluoride they need for their developing teeth. Ask us about fluoride supplements and testing of your drinking water.
